About The Position

PARR is a leading supplier of homebuilding materials, solutions, and services, catering to professional home builders of all sizes. The Window Contractor Sales position is responsible for executing sales call processes and strategies, managing account activities, and driving PARR sales initiatives. This role primarily supports the sales team by generating quotes, processing orders, and assisting with construction schedule management. The position involves daily interaction with Location Managers, internal and external customers, and regular engagement with corporate departments (Central Purchasing, Account Management, IT) and vendor representatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years sales experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the building materials industry preferred.
  • Class C driver’s license and must have and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job.
  • Must be able to type 30+ WPM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required.
  • Knowledge of building materials and their uses.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PLC.
  • Ability to execute PARR selling strategies and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols.
  • Ability to aggressively pursue company’s best interest when selling to customers.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs of customers and PLC.
  • Being prepared for individual and group sales meetings.
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals.
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment.
  • Willingness to share department responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material required.
  • Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Communicate with customers in the Residential Construction industry to sell and manage timely flow of building materials to job sites.
  • Utilize, promote, and facilitate the PARR Bridge Strategy.
  • Proactively set, pursue, and meet or exceed personal sales and profit goals.
  • Deepen customer relationships and schedule timely material shipments to ensure account profitability, customer satisfaction, and loyalty.
  • Sell based on overall quality, value, and service, rather than price.
  • Precisely and efficiently manage time and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate with dispatch to ensure realistic delivery promises to customers.
  • Send pictures of returns to dispatch with pickup requests.
  • Maintain customer profiles in Outlook or CRM, including full name, company name, title, office number, cell number, email, and matrix.
  • Follow best practices in order entry, setting up deliveries, and all job aspects.
  • Walk customers to products in the store.
  • Introduce oneself to customers and use their names when possible.
  • Manage open orders to ensure timely invoicing or deletion.
  • Take action to achieve objectives without waiting for management directives.
  • Use DDMS to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow SPC guidelines and proper GP%.
  • Complete POs on time, confirm confirmations, and tie POs to orders.
  • Greet walk-in customers professionally.
  • Answer the phone promptly with a professional greeting.
  • Identify customer urgency and complete orders quickly.
  • Seek to learn products and their applications for the end user.
  • Confirm customer material needs prior to ordering product.
  • Exceed profitable SPC pricing guidelines.
  • Complete quotes and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Be proactive with customer needs.
  • Maintain a PARR share file for customer plans and take-offs.
  • Demonstrate a high level of follow-through with orders, ensuring inventory arrives and communicating with customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
