About The Position

Will wind quality packages of yarn for Weave Room. Maintain efficiency as determined by Department/Plant Managers. Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Wind yarn onto cones for Weave Room. Report spindles making bad yarn to the fixer. Report bad yarn to the department supervisor/manager. Pack yarn in yarn bins at winder. Put color identification stickers in cones of yarn. Make the required quality checks. Keep winder area housekeeping in good order. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. When cutting off a wrap-up, always cut away from the body and wear a Kevlar glove on the opposite hand. Hearing protection in high noise areas as needed to do the job safely. Follow the 5 S Standards as described in the Associate Handbook.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.
  • Ability to discern colors and shades.
