About The Position

The Winder Operator will operate and maintain bobbin winding equipment to meet production targets and quality standards. This role directly supports the production value stream and requires close coordination with the Value Stream Team Lead and maintenance teams. This is an onsite, first-shift role (7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday) with mandatory overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling)
  • Willingness to work the first shift (7:30 AM–3:30 PM) Monday–Friday and be available for mandatory overtime
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Basic computer skills

  • Production experience
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bobbin/wire winders according to manufacturing specifications and detailed instructions
  • String wire through winders, adjust counters for required footage, and maintain oil levels
  • Record required data for labeling and place finished bobbins on the wire table according to inventory
  • Keep bobbin machines running continuously and pull material from the warehouse as needed
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow 5S practices
  • Follow safety regulations and quality guidelines; report production issues to the direct lead
  • Detect and report problem areas or unusual conditions to the Value Stream Team Lead
  • Perform related duties and assist at equal or lower classifications as assigned
