Windchill Backend Developer
About The Position
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Windchill Backend Developer to create deep, low-level Windchill customizations using Java, PTC APIs, and PTC customization frameworks. The role focuses on extending platform behavior through services, listeners, and processors while maintaining a clean, upgrade-friendly customization layer. The successful candidate will bring strong Java fundamentals, in-depth knowledge of Windchill internals, and a disciplined, performance-aware engineering approach. The developer will collaborate with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions. The role also includes contributing to code and design reviews and mentoring more junior engineers. The position is full-time, direct W2, and 100% remote within the United States. The listed annual salary range is $120,000–$135,000. Bright Vision Technologies cannot sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Five or more years of Java development experience, with a strong focus on Windchill customization.
- Deep, hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API and customization frameworks.
- Solid understanding of the Windchill data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
- Strong Java object-oriented design and performance-engineering skills.
- Experience with JSP, HTML, and Windchill client-side customization.
- Hands-on experience with Type and Attribute Management (TAM).
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Oracle or SQL Server.
- Experience supporting Windchill upgrades.
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Clear communication skills and a track record of shipping production-ready work.
Nice To Haves
- PTC Windchill development certifications.
- Experience with PTC ThingWorx development.
- Exposure to Windchill RV&S customization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill.
- Experience operating Windchill in the cloud.
Responsibilities
