About The Position

NextEra Energy Resources is a leading wholesale electricity generator that utilizes diverse energy sources to drive progress. This specific role is a non-travel position supporting the wind farm in Lorenzo, TX, near Lubbock, TX. As a Wind Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and optimal functioning of all wind farm operations, with a primary focus on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and contributing to long-term reliability and profitability.

Requirements

High School Grad / GED
1.5+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program
Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval

Responsibilities

Implementing Operation Safety Policy Instructions and conducting field work in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Encouraging good employee safety practices and fostering an unparalleled employee safety culture.
Participating in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.
Recruiting and developing other technicians for team growth.
Supporting the site manager with timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability.
Collaborating with internal NextEra users to develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance.
Representing NextEra Energy positively and professionally in the community and with customers.
Performing regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment.
Completing electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Maintaining all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling.
Applying a basic understanding of technical and process functions.
Managing personal training schedules and meeting all training requirements within designated time frames.
Meeting attendance requirements.
Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
