About The Position

GE Vernova Wind is offering a portfolio of proven technology and driving decarbonization by delivering reliable, affordable, sustainable, renewable energy for our customers and communities around the world. This internship is for individuals who love technology, sustainability, and want a career in engineering. As a Wind Engineering Intern, you will be an active contributor to our commitment to safety, high-quality scalable workhorse products, and decarbonizing the globe. Engineering Interns are the pipeline for the GE Vernova Wind Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP). Interns will experience technically challenging, meaningful, and creative assignments, working on high priority teams such as product design, systems, component design, controls and operability, advanced technology and manufacturing, testing and validation, aerodynamics, performance, quality, services, and cost-out. Interns who are eligible candidates (rising undergraduate seniors or graduating master’s candidates) will be able to interview for Wind EEDP while they are interns at GE Vernova. All internships will take place between May and August 2027.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline.
  • ABET accredited university.
  • Eligible Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aero Engineering.
  • Must be geographically mobile (Greenville, SC, or Schenectady, NY).
  • Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
  • Must be eligible for relocation assistance (permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred GPA of 3.2/4.0 overall or higher.
  • Passion for the wind energy industry, engineering, and dedication to a career in technology.
  • Proven scholastic achievements, proactive leadership skills, and prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, energetic, positive individual who is flexible in changing environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving, learning agility.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in project teams in an international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be an active contributor to our commitment to safety, high-quality scalable workhorse products, and decarbonizing the globe.
  • Work on high priority teams, including product design, systems, component design (such as towers, machine head, power conversion), controls and operability, advanced technology and manufacturing, testing and validation, aerodynamics, performance, quality, services, cost-out, and more.
  • Interview for the Wind Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) if eligible.
