About The Position

Acuren Wind Canada Inc. is recruiting for experienced traveling Wind Blade Repair Technicians to support projects throughout Canada for the 2026 Wind season! Combined with the use of rope access technology and inspection expertise, we provide a comprehensive inspection and repair solution for the wind industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience working in the wind energy sector.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with blade inspection and repair.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • A valid drivers' license and clean driver's abstract is required.
  • First Aid with AED and CPR required
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in remote locations across Canada for extended periods.
  • 6 weeks on, 1 week off rotation.
  • 40+ hours/week.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed.
  • Ability to ascend heights up to 100m (330ft) via ladders, suspended platforms, boom trucks, lifts, or rope access multiple times daily, while carrying up to 15kgs (30lbs).
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and traversing rough or slippery terrain on construction sites.
  • Capable of lifting up to 25kgs (50lbs) unassisted (occasionally up to 35kgs or 75lbs).
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, and climb with full range of motion, often for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Psychological and physical fitness to work in demanding environments; must be able to pass random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Proficiency with mechanized hand tools.
  • Ability to function productively in adverse weather and site conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, team-based environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required.
  • Must be able to adhere to Acuren and/or client-specific pandemic and health policies, including evolving compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates holding a Technical Wind Certification or those experienced with a broad range of turbine platforms and blade types.
  • Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, and Confined Space certifications are an asset.
  • IRATA Certification is considered a strong asset.
  • GWO Certifications are considered a strong asset.
  • Must possess a valid Open Work Permit and be eligible to work in Canada.
  • French is considered an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough visual and internal inspections of wind turbine blades to identify damage, wear, or structural issues.
  • Perform composite and structural blade repairs using approved industry techniques and materials.
  • Install leading-edge protection systems and carry out surface restoration as required.
  • Ensure all repair and inspection work is performed in compliance with company and industry quality and safety standards.
  • Accurately document inspection results, repair actions, and materials used in detailed job reports.
  • Operate with a safety-first mindset at all times, ensuring full adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure operational safety of all equipment prior to and during use.
  • Apply appropriate testing criteria according to relevant specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Establish and follow proper examination techniques for inspections, prioritizing safety in all procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in advanced rescue techniques and rope access safety standards.
  • Be capable of meeting all required competencies and performing the responsibilities of a Rope Access Technician.
  • Perform work at heights exceeding 300 feet using rope access or suspended platforms.
  • Travel to and operate in remote wind farm sites across Canada, including confined spaces, often for extended periods and under variable weather and environmental conditions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • May be required to instruct, mentor, or supervise junior technicians or other team members.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team practices and performance.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by operations management.
