About The Position

Corthell Transportation is a family-owned, long-haul trucking company specializing in heavy-haul and over-dimensional freight that requires stretch equipment. The company also operates long-haul winch trucks and is seeking experienced drivers, including drivers with winch truck experience. Loads range from legal weight to more than 100,000 pounds, and trailers range from 15 to 55 feet and beyond. The position is over the road, and drivers may live anywhere in the continental United States; the company says it gets drivers home for days off, typically every three to four weeks.

The advertised salary is $95,000 to $105,000 per year. The company notes that, based on driver history, earnings can exceed $100,000 depending on experience. Requirements

• Class A CDL.
• At least 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• At least 2 years of multi-axle experience.
• At least 2 years of winch truck or oilfield experience for the Winch Truck job.

Nice To Haves

• TWIC card (preferred).
• Experience with stretch trailers and multi-axle step and RGN trailers.
• Machine-operating experience for loading and unloading.
• Knowledge of state weight allowances.
• Knowledge of state oversize-load laws and pilot-car requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive long-haul routes transporting heavy-haul, over-dimensional, and stretch freight.
• Operate a winch truck for the Winch Truck Driver position.
• Load and unload freight, where applicable, using machine-operating skills.
• Follow applicable state weight allowances and oversize-load laws, including pilot-car requirements.
