About The Position

Wildwood Nature Center is seeking a creative, nature-loving individual who enjoys animals and teaching people of all ages to join their team as a part-time Wildwood Instructor. This role involves teaching programs, hosting birthday parties and special events, leading scout groups, and instructing offsite programs for various age groups. The position requires assisting with classroom setup and cleanup, implementing lesson plans, and supervising children aged 1-14. The instructor will provide excellent customer service and promote the District’s programs and services. As part of the staff, the individual will collaborate with colleagues and uphold a teaching philosophy that emphasizes outdoor exploration, live animals, hands-on learning, and an appreciation for the natural world.

Requirements

Minimum of two years’ experience supervising children
Creative
Enjoy nature
Demonstrated ability to work with people of all ages
Demonstrated ability to deal with stressful situations calmly
Intermediate level of written and verbal communication in the English language
CPR/AED certified or have the ability to become certified
