Requirements

  • 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in wildlife education or fish &/or wildlife management AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in wildlife education or fish &/or wildlife management AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in wildlife education or fish &/or wildlife management AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the scientific and resource management communities to ensure that coastal decision makers have access to the latest science that can inform their work and decision-making, and that scientists understand and consider management needs in developing and advancing their research agendas.
  • Design, market, and deliver in-person and virtual training events (workshops, courses, seminars, conferences, webinars, etc.) to enhance decision-maker understanding of scientific information and current best management practices by providing access to science-based training and tools.
  • Conduct audience needs assessment and market analyses when appropriate to ensure program offerings meet the needs of target audiences and that the program stays relevant and nimble.
  • Work with other staff to create science translation products such as brochures, videos, fact sheets, etc., including the development of web-based materials.
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder engagement discussions and processes.
