The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) is seeking applications for a District 4 Wildlife Biologist (Conservation Biologist II) within the Wildlife Management Division. This role is crucial for achieving the Commission's objectives of conserving fish and wildlife habitats and managing wildlife populations across the state. The position reports directly to the Coastal Operations Supervisor and is responsible for leading WMD efforts in a nine-county district in southeastern NC. Key duties include providing expertise to various stakeholders on wildlife habitat enhancement and population management, offering technical guidance on nuisance wildlife issues, developing and delivering educational materials, assisting with research projects and surveys, monitoring population trends, investigating wildlife diseases, responding to wildlife emergencies, inspecting hunting preserves and rehabilitation facilities, assisting law enforcement with wildlife cases, and contributing to the development of hunting regulations. This is a HOME-BASED position requiring the employee to provide a compliant home office space. The duty station must be within WRC District 4, with a preference for Bladen or Cumberland County. The position involves frequent daily travel with occasional overnight stays.
