About The Position

Triton is seeking a talented, avian-focused Wildlife Biologist to join their dynamic team of environmental professionals. This role involves contributing to projects that support local and provincial communities while balancing environmental stewardship with responsible resource development. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading and supporting avian and wildlife field programs, collaborating with a team, and providing technical support to field teams and project managers across Western Canada. The role also suits individuals who enjoy working outdoors in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a similar discipline
  • Eligibility for or current registration as a Qualified Environmental Professional (R.P.Bio., R.B.Tech., or similar)
  • Ability to travel and work remotely in field settings (rotational shifts, camp/hotel accommodations)
  • Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial environmental regulations and permitting processes
  • Having worked in environmental consulting industry
  • Having previous field work experience, conducting wildlife biology related work
  • Experience conducting pre-construction and construction-phase wildlife work
  • Familiarity with Species at Risk protocols
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills
  • Collaborative, problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

  • Conducting a variety of wildlife field surveys with a strong focus and expertise in avian biology, and bird behavior and ecology
  • Performing nest sweeps and nest monitoring, and conducting species-specific surveys
  • Supporting multi-disciplinary teams with technical wildlife expertise
  • Managing project tasks, fieldwork, and report delivery to meet client schedules and quality expectations
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and on-site representatives
  • Advising clients on environmental Best Management Practices
  • Supporting internal project review and quality assurance
  • Working collaboratively within Triton’s team-oriented culture
