About The Position

The Wilderness Medicine Equipment Coordinator works with the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Equipment and Materials Manager to build and execute a long-term plan for supporting courses. The Equipment and Materials Coordinator is largely responsible for the day to day implementation of the plan including gear maintenance, shipping, receiving, and communication.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage a high volume of detail specific work in busy environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on deadlines and fluctuating requests
  • Ability to consistently work independently and be self-motivated
  • Able to physically lift and move boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Able to communicate well with a variety of audiences
  • Technological proficiency, preferably with experience with Microsoft programs
  • Willing to work with bio-hazard materials in a safe environment
  • Valid driver’s license and pass company driving requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience and certification is highly preferred but will train if needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, labels and packs Wilderness Medicine course equipment and materials for shipment to course locations; oversees the gear and materials plan in the Equipment Manager’s absence
  • Regularly communicates to stakeholders in order to ensure efficient management of equipment.
  • Assesses and maintains equipment inventories. Maintains equipment warehouse and storage areas in a clean and orderly state.
  • Maintains inventory of extra supplies and materials, assisting the Equipment Manager with ordering and maintaining appropriate levels of supply inventory
  • Preserves gear set inventory sheets for each gear set and appropriately restock gear sets, ensuring uniformity and readiness for all course equipment and materials
  • Physically takes course gear and materials to select course locations
  • Receives returning gear and shipments from vendors
  • General warehouse operations support including cleaning and organizing
  • Safe Operation of forklift
