Sunrise Community Health is seeking a WIC Registered Dietitian to perform WIC program eligibility and nutritional assessment for individual clients. The WIC Registered Dietitian will assess the nutritional status of and provide nutrition counseling to high-risk pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants, and children in the WIC program. This role involves performing health screenings, gathering accurate health metrics, interviewing participants, reviewing medical and nutrition information to determine program eligibility, and developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring nutrition care plans. The dietitian will counsel participants and families on nutrition needs in a participant-centered, positive approach, considering various social factors. They will also promote breastfeeding, authorize specific formulas and food packages, provide documentation in participant charts, and review charts of high and moderate-risk participants. Additionally, the role includes developing and evaluating nutritional education materials, preparing and leading group education classes, assisting with outreach activities, maintaining professional relationships with community providers and retailers, collaborating with WIC partners, and supporting team needs. The position may also involve assisting in the supervision of paraprofessional staff and training volunteers, students, and interns. Other duties may be assigned by the WIC Director or WIC Supervisor.
