About The Position

This position supervises, monitors and evaluates clinic workflow and staff on a daily basis. Serves as a role model for staff, demonstrates leadership through behaviors that are consistent with the department and corporate mission and vision. Provides overall management and coordination of daily operations within the WIC clinic. Performs nutrition and health assessments, delivers counseling and referrals, and supports breastfeeding promotion initiatives. Supervises assigned clinic staff and ensures high-quality, participant-centered service delivery. Functions as a WIC Dietitian on a daily basis as scheduled and/or needed. Participates in the interviewing and training of clinic staff. Communicates the objectives and standards of the department to clinic staff, assesses performance, coaches, counsels and disciplines assigned staff. Maintains inventory of supplies for department operations and processes orders as needed. Monitors clinic schedule and staffing, approving all PTO requests of clinic staff. Assists WIC Director in the overall coordination and development of performance improvement activities and special projects. Ensures clinic staff members are informed of corporate, hospital and division initiatives, programs and activities. Performs all other duties that may be requested by WIC Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Dietetics
  • Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) accredited internship
  • Prior WIC program experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills for participant counseling and education
  • Basic computer proficiency (word processing, data entry)
  • Written communication skills for reports and educational materials
  • Ability to present information to small and large groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to clinic and community locations

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Dietitian (CDR) credential
  • Missouri licensure
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Bilingual skills
