Join our team as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. In this entry-level role, you will provide basic breastfeeding support, encouragement, and nutrition education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers enrolled in the WIC program. Support is primarily provided through a texting platform and phone calls, with occasional in-person interactions at the clinic. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred to support WIC participants who prefer to communicate in Spanish. This is a peer-to-peer support role and does not involve providing medical advice. Complex breastfeeding or health concerns are referred to lactation consultants, healthcare providers, or other qualified staff. Advanced lactation credentials, such as CLC or IBCLC certification, are not required.
