About The Position

New Hope Services (NHS) is celebrating 65 years of service and provides a full continuum of human services from child and family support through ability services. Their expertise in affordable housing also allows them to partner with communities for economic and community development impact. This role requires fluent Spanish/English bilingual communication skills and offers paid holidays, vacation, PTO, and sick time. Office hours are Monday 11 AM - 7 PM, and Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday 9 AM - 5 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Present a friendly and warm welcome to all families upon clinic visits and telephone contacts; display of excellent eye contact with families; offer a minimum of one compliment to families at each clinic visit or telephone contact
  • Assist families in completion of paperwork for certification process. In order to expedite process, if necessary, directly assist families in filling out paperwork if there appears to be some difficulty. Perform all assigned duties for certification processing including: income verification; updated household information; immunization records; community referrals; ID folder; check issuance; acceptable WIC foods; check explanation; notification of rights to appeal; sanctions; and vendor listing
  • Maintain participant confidentiality
  • Promote breastfeeding
  • Ensuring an appointment show rate of a minimum of 80% average (calculate rate daily) and that appointment slots are 100% filled on a daily basis
  • Meet or exceed caseload goals. Assist in contacting clients to pick up checks routinely, appointment reminders, etc.
  • Ensure a monthly participation rate for WIC at or above the state average
  • Responsible for contacting clients to pick up checks routinely.
  • Daily documentation of scheduled check pick ups in appt. book
  • Daily mailing of reminder post cards for appts.
  • Ongoing phone contacts with clients
  • End of the month participation reports will be completed and submitted no later than the 5th calendar day of the following month; updating of answering machine messages; direct communication with PDA when necessary; phone answering; appointment scheduling
  • Check stock duties include ensuring adequate local clinic supply, daily lock up of check stock
  • Ineligible File maintenance includes Form Letter A distribution and filing of copies, ensuring ineligibility signatures are documented, and ensuring general note and alert is entered in statewide database
  • Participate in community outreach activities
  • Accept clinic assignments as scheduled. Travel reimbursement provided for subsequent clinic travel beyond clinic site where work day begins
  • Help in other areas of the facility as requested by any supervisor or program director
  • Be thoroughly familiar with, and review at least annually, personnel policies and procedures of New Hope Services, Inc.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all personnel and financial matters of the corporation
  • Contribute to team efforts to accomplish the mission statement of NHCFS and NHS
