About The Position

Tecovas is seeking a Wholesale Planning Manager to oversee the planning, forecasting, buying, and inventory management for its wholesale channel. This role will lead a Wholesale Planner and collaborate with various teams including Wholesale Sales, DTC Planning, Merchandising, and Sales Ops. The ideal candidate will strengthen forecasting, buying, inventory management, and reporting processes, build scalable systems, and provide clear insights into the channel's performance and future direction. This position requires the candidate to be based in Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in wholesale and DTC planning, preferably within footwear, apparel, or accessories.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or formally developing at least one direct report or junior analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced analytical and Excel modeling ability.
  • Working experience in an ERP and a demand planning or planning system.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Communication range to move between a spreadsheet and a leadership conversation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to travel to market twice a year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Wholesale Planner, supporting their growth and evolving ownership splits across categories.
  • Review pre-season plans, category Open to Buy, and reporting, providing coaching and analysis.
  • Identify development opportunities for the team and contribute to building the case for future team structures.
  • Own the pre-season buy forecasting process for the wholesale channel, reconciling financial targets with bottom-up plans.
  • Pressure-test demand forecasts for seasonal assortments in partnership with Merchandising and Sales.
  • Own wholesale purchase orders, coordinating with the DTC planning team for timely placement.
  • Own the monthly Open to Buy process for the wholesale channel, incorporating demand, trends, and projections.
  • Provide planning inputs for the seasonal investment review and represent the wholesale inventory position.
  • Set reporting standards for the team, defining metrics, cadence, and formats.
  • Communicate key item investments, performance drivers, and variances to management with recommended actions.
  • Manage weekly sell-in, sell-through, and available-to-sell performance to ensure inventory availability.
  • Own seasonal item transition planning and communicate changes to downstream teams.
  • Provide inventory inputs for department store hold orders and partner with Sales Operations on order validation.
  • Partner with the DTC planning team on style risk, channel transfers, receipt needs, and pre-season capacity planning.
  • Communicate inventory positions across teams, flagging risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Work with NetSuite, WFX, Invent AI, EDI, and retailer portals, and lead planning's role in demand planning and ERP implementations.
  • Leverage AI tools to build scalable reporting and drive planning insights.
  • Lead quarterly and seasonal hindsight reviews, translating findings into process improvements.
