About The Position

The Product Developer (C13) is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by applying this knowledge to their role and the broader business. This role is recognized as a technical authority within a specific area of the organization and requires a basic level of commercial awareness. There are typically multiple individuals within the business who provide a similar level of subject-matter expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and persuade others, particularly colleagues across different areas and, on occasion, external customers. The role has a significant impact on the business area through the delivery of complex initiatives and provides advice and counsel related to technology or operational matters. Work performed affects an entire area and ultimately contributes to the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function or job family.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Wholesale Lending and Credit
  • Ability to translate end user needs into tangible work products that technology engineers can move forward to develop (e.g., Process Flows, Requirements, Design Artifacts, Screen Mock Ups, etc.)
  • Operate within a JIRA Agile environment driving product design process
  • Define preventative and detective data controls to improve data quality and integrity
  • Experience with AI and Digital Tools
  • Perform data investigations to conduct exploratory and descriptive analysis of business datasets that require a high degree of accuracy with tight timescales
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Direct experience in end-to-end project delivery, preferably in product development
  • Ability to structure and break down problems, develop solutions, and to drive to results
  • Ability to build networks and relationships internally and externally
  • Track record of working across multiple stakeholders and collaborating with various business, project and technology partners
  • Project Management skills with experience leading large cross functional initiatives
  • Knowledge of analytical tools
  • Generation of reports and presentations for management

Responsibilities

  • Develop business cases, requirements definition (BRDs), product enhancements, innovation, and feature/functionality definition based on market and industry research, trends, and client needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including scoping product releases, agreeing to and tracking business priorities, incorporating regulatory and compliance requirements, and investment tracking.
  • Create a product vision aligned to business priorities and a corresponding road-map to delivery.
  • Follow market, industry, and client trends to own the field and adapt them for application to Citi’s products and solutions platforms.
  • Develop plans, prioritize, coordinate design and delivery of products or features to product release, and serve as a product ambassador within the user community.
  • Work in close coordination with Technology, Business Managers, and other stakeholders to fulfill delivery objectives.
  • Manage and implement a wide variety of products and solutions.
  • Identify solutions ranging across data analytics, reporting, CRM, Trade Workflows, and trade processing.
  • Deliver direct business results and provide advice regarding product development that necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy.
  • Partner with senior team members and leaders and a widely distributed global user community to define and implement solutions.
  • Create clear and specific project plans, business and technical requirements documents for product execution.
  • Interact with business managers, technology, and sales to understand their long-term vision, discuss industry trends, and incorporate them into the product & solutions strategy.
  • Focus on controls and governance, including performing Need-to-Know based security and access reviews, Access Approvals, controls testing, and documentation.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
