About The Position

To fulfill the passenger services obligation for airline passengers who require a wheelchair either by necessity or for comfort. This role involves transporting passengers safely, providing assistance and information, and coordinating with dispatchers and gate agents. The position also requires compliance with TSA screening requirements and accurate completion of incident and wheelchair logs.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift, squat, stoop, push, stand, and bend throughout the course of a shift.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold 75 pounds or more.
• If over 18 a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent may be required in some locations.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a reliable telephone number for contact.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test as required (DOT or Non DOT) and submit to random testing requirements.
• Must complete any applicable Huntleigh and airline specific training as required.
• Maintain a neat, well groomed, professional image at all times.
• Meet uniform standards as required.
• No facial piercings.
• No tattoos below the wrist or above the neck.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers safely to and from required locations, remaining alert to potential hazards.
• Provide special assistance, general information, and directions to passengers.
• Project a positive and friendly image when interacting with passengers and responding to inquiries.
• Coordinate with dispatcher for assignments and gate agents regarding wheelchair assisted passengers.
• Comply with all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint screening requirements and processes.
• Complete incident reports for accidents and out of the ordinary events.
• Complete wheelchair logs to document “pushes.”
• Perform other duties as required.
