Wetland Soil Scientist
About The Position
AECOM is seeking a Wetland Soil Scientist to join their industry-leading Northeastern US Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice. This individual must be a Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS) by the SSA or a Certified Professional Soil Classifier (CPSC) with specific wetland delineation experience in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, or Rhode Island. This role offers a great opportunity to work with a large group of professionals supporting projects in the energy transmission and generation sectors (including electric transmission, renewables and storage), state and federal projects, and industrial sectors.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Soil Science, Wetland Science, Environmental Science or related field and 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Certified Professional Soil Classifier (CPSC)
- US Citizenship is required.
- Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS) by the SSA
- Specific wetland delineation experience in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, or Rhode Island.
- Working knowledge of CT and New England Wetland Regulations.
- Experience supporting projects in the energy transmission and generation sectors (including electric transmission, renewables and storage), state and federal projects and industrial sectors.
- 6+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead wetland field delineations in Connecticut and adjacent states.
- Prepare wetland technical reports.
- Prepare environmental permit applications.
