About The Position

V3 Companies, a multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Wetland Scientist in Indiana to work in Indiana, Ohio, and Southwest Michigan. This role will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine our built and natural world. V3 is a privately held, generational company with firm ownership opportunities. The Wetland Scientist will change the shape of the community through protecting the health of natural environments and supporting sustainable growth. As part of the Wetlands & Ecology team, the scientist will collaborate with over 450 designers, engineers, and scientists to make meaningful, effective change across North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, biology, ecology, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience with wetland delineations, habitat evaluations and regulatory agency coordination in the Indiana/Ohio/Midwest.
  • Experience with professional wetland delineations.
  • Received formal wetland delineation training (certificate of completion required).
  • Be able to work in the field, inclement weather included, for long hours.
  • Be able to travel throughout the Midwest with overnight stays.
  • Must be able to meet V3’s company vehicle driving requirements.
  • Have organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Have a willingness to learn and be part of a team.
  • Strong communication and project coordination experience.
  • Familiar with ESRI ArcGIS Pro
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage project fieldwork within Power and Energy, private development markets and watershed planning.
  • Complete project reports within assigned timelines and provide technical direction.
  • Perform and coordinate fieldwork with the Wetlands and Ecology Team, including wetland delineations and habitat evaluations.
  • Prepare, submit, and obtain Section 404/401 and isolated wetland permit approvals.
  • Opportunity to work on natural resource design/build projects.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and responsible decision-making.
  • Represent V3 at professional industry events.
  • Offer feedback to supervisory staff on performance of existing processes and procedures.
