About The Position

Working under the supervision of the Wells Intervention Lead, the Wells Intervention Technician performs day-to-day manual labor and maintenance on equipment and facilities for the Wells Intervention Team. This is a remote/ rotational position, working in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Requirements

  • Able to identify flanges.
  • Knowledge of hardline components and uses.
  • Knowledge of hydro testing.
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with wellhead components, bolt-up procedures, flanges, threaded pipe and fittings, and proper safe use of tools.
  • Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.
  • Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate.
  • Capable of learning various Worley and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies.
  • Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
  • Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
  • Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  • Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  • Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and the ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
  • The ability to obtain both Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within 6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) years’ experience with flange identification, triplex pump, bolt-up, or basic rigging procedures.
  • One (1) years’ experience working in a Wells Intervention environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate support for the company's HSE management system.
  • Perform manual labor including clean up and stick picking.
  • Perform heavy labor such as layout of hardline pipe and hauling/stacking materials on trailers or skids.
  • Operate Wells service equipment: Loaders, Rig Trucks, Forklifts, Man-lifts, Boom Trucks, Lowboys.
  • Perform hydro-testing on hard line or wellheads.
  • Set up Wells Support jobs including Coil jobs, E-Line jobs, Full bore Jobs, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect and Reconnect with various flow-back components and pressure equipment.
  • Perform rigging load calculations and proper rigging for lifting operations.
  • Safely climb ladders up to 25’ in height.
