Wellness Salon Manager in Training

About The Position

The Manager in Training works alongside the Store Manager to learn how to lead a salon team, meet goals, and operate a successful tanning and wellness salon. The role includes hands-on training in coaching employees, recruiting and developing staff, managing salon performance and expenses, delivering customer service, maintaining salon standards, supporting promotions, and handling transactions and customer data securely. The position offers commission opportunities, advancement potential, and flexible scheduling. Salons are open seven days a week; the schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays, and occasional local travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at other salon locations.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in retail, customer service, operations, or management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to motivate others.
Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to be on your feet for 7 or more hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds.
Availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the Store Manager to learn how to run a salon.
Learn to lead and coach Wellness Consultants and the Salon Support team.
Learn to recruit, schedule, and develop employees.
Set goals, track performance, and follow up on training.
Manage labor, cost of sales, and other controllable expenses.
Deliver customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
Keep the salon clean, stocked, and operating smoothly while meeting health department standards.
Help plan and carry out local promotions to grow store sales.
Handle salon cash, deposits, and customer card data securely, including through PCI security training.
