About The Position

Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing wellness & restorative programs aimed at promoting health and specialized restorative programs. Oversees the restorative department in the Convent to assure that on-going program of wellness and restorative programming that meets the needs of Sisters. Programs will be designed to increase and assist Sisters to be as independent as possible. Provide guidance to the restorative aides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health related/wellness field. May consider certification in fitness with work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in long term care.
  • Demonstrated strong multi-tasking and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Competent with computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, and implement the Wellness & Restorative Program.
  • Ensuring that Sisters have an individualized program based on recommendations from therapy, nursing and physicians that meet their needs.
  • Programs may include but not limited to exercise, ambulation, ADLs, communication, and group exercise programs.
  • Assess, collect data, and evaluate the effectiveness of various programs and implement changes as needed.
  • Develop creative and engaging fitness programs that will support the Sister’s individual needs.
  • Supervising partners in mission in charged with implementing various programs.
  • Set realistic goals for programs to assure efficiency and to meet Sisters’ needs.
  • Review all restorative documentation and care plans for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manages restorative Partners in Mission for Convent.
  • Hold routine team meetings to discuss Sisters’ progress in wellness/restorative plan.
  • Participates in meetings and education related to wellness & restorative department.
  • Maintains accurate and concise reports.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure the highest quality program is delivered.
  • Mentor Partners in Mission within the department.
  • Completes annual performance reviews and competencies for Partners in Mission within the department.
  • Keep current with federal, state and local requirements and regulations.
  • Arrange departmental schedules to provide weekend programs.
  • Plan and/or participate in departmental and interdepartmental in-service training.
  • Participate in committees as requested by supervisor.
  • Write and update departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures communication for programs is provided to Sisters and Partners in Mission who are involved.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, as needed.
  • Complete annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibit behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
  • Adhere to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
