About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring per diem Wellness Nurses at The Residence at Penniman Hill. The Wellness Nurse will be an active member of the Resident Care Team and assist the Resident Care Director with the management of the community. This role includes direct supervision of Resident Care Associates, monitoring residents' emerging health needs, covering for resident care staffing as needed, and assisting with on-call duties. The Wellness Nurse will also follow up on family issues as directed by the Resident Care Director.

Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to assist in the planning for the Resident Care Department in accordance with current state, federal, and local standards.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
Current RN or LPN License in the state you are employed.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting.
Previous health experience in a hospital and/or community setting.

Responsibilities

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
Assist with the evaluation of resident needs and the development/revision of service plans per state regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate understanding of pathophysiological and psychosocial changes associated with aging and disabilities.
Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of resident care associates.
Evaluate residents' issues and medical concerns, discussing them with the Executive Director, family, and physician as appropriate.
Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments.
Monitor resident care assistants' compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.
Participate in community marketing efforts.
Participate in the direct care of residents on an as-needed basis.
Provide support to resident care associates regarding assignment questions, concerns, and emergency situations.
Ensure all required staffing and schedules, including backup coverage, are met.
Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes to minimize future issues.
Ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.
Assist the Resident Care Director with all required documentation.
Administer topical and oral medications, ear and eye drops, and injectables where allowed by regulation, with written physician orders.
Other duties as requested.
