About The Position

Alto Wheaton is seeking a dependable PRN Wellness Nurse (LPN or RN) for weekend shifts in our Assisted Living community. With two shift options and weekend-only scheduling, this is an ideal opportunity for a licensed nurse looking for consistent supplemental income without a weekday commitment. The responsibility of the Wellness Nurse (WN) is to supervise delivery of care and services to residents. In achieving this goal, the WN performs procedures within the guidelines of all state and local regulations and accepted standards of care. Ongoing communication between the WN, associates, the residents and their families, professional consultants, and third-party providers is critical to the welfare of the residents.

Requirements

  • Active LPN or RN license in good standing in Illinois — required
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the state licensing agency, as required by state regulations.
  • CPR/AED certified.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience working as an LPN in a senior care setting.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
  • Dependable and available for consistent weekend shifts

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of senior living experience — preferred but not required
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and nursing care for Assisted Living residents
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans
  • Monitor resident health and respond promptly to changes in condition
  • Supervise and support non-licensed care associates on your shift
  • Be the calm, capable clinical presence residents count on every weekend
  • Provide daily supervision and leadership to assigned non-licensed associates and other designated personnel in meeting the residents needs and monitor the condition of residents in AL.
  • Demonstrate good decision-making skills.
  • Make work assignments and meet with associates regularly to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of care and services.
  • Provide resident care according to health care providers orders and in accordance with regulatory requirements, recognized nursing practice, established standards, and Company policy.
  • Accurately administer prescribed medications, supervise the continuity of resident care, respond to changes in resident condition, medications, or other circumstances requiring special care needs and perform first aid as required.
