About The Position

Le7 te Melámen Health Society (LtMHS) is seeking a full-time Wellness Manager for a term position through 2029. This role involves participating in health-related working groups, Nation health tables, and engaging with funding sources and services. The Wellness Manager will attend meetings as directed by LtMHS, report on outcomes, and implement shared goals and objectives of the Secwepemc Leadership and Health Directors as outlined in the annual work plan. This position reports directly to the LtMHS Executive Director. The ideal candidate is a steady, relationship-focused leader who can represent LtMHS professionally, clearly, and with care. They should be comfortable working across multiple tables, managing priorities, and ensuring follow-through. Success requires strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to support shared wellness priorities respectfully and practically.

Requirements

  • Degree in Governance, First Nations Governance, Project Management, Community Planning, Indigenous Health, Health Administration, Administration, or a related field. A combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management position, preferably in a First Nations organization or community-based setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with project management, planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience supporting policy development, process improvement, documentation or governance-related initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Secwepemc culture, traditions, and communities.
  • Knowledge of First Nations governance structures, procedures and decision-making processes.
  • Knowledge of provincial health administration structures and First Nations Health Authority processes, including how health governance partners collaborate with external partners.
  • Facilitation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate work across partners and maintain effective follow-through.
  • Maintain confidentiality of professionally acquired information.
  • Provide service in a non-judgmental and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Be accessible, accountable, cordial, and responsive in all manner of communications for the LtMHS.
  • Present professionally in the workplace and when conducting business for the SNTC, always representing the LtMHS with professionalism and integrity.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driver's abstract.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate wellness-related initiatives that support the shared priorities of LtMHS, Leadership and Health Directors.
  • Participate in health-related working groups, Nation health tables, funding discussions and service planning processes.
  • Ensure all wellness-related work is informed by Secwepemc culture, traditions and community context.
  • Represent LtMHS in meetings with communities, funders, health partners, and service providers.
  • Report back to LtMHS on key directives, outcomes, decisions and follow-up items that impact wellness priorities or annual work plan activities.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and reporting of wellness projects, programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor work plan activities, timelines and deliverables to support progress against shared goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate meetings, planning sessions and collaborative discussions that support shared decision-making and coordinated action.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, communities, Health Directors, Leadership, funders, service providers and external partners.
  • Support policy development, process improvement and documentation related to wellness planning, health services and organizational priorities.
