Requirements

  • Licensed RN or LPN/LVN in good standing with State Licensing Authority
  • Relevant experience in Assisted Living and Memory Care Settings.
  • The desire and talent to work with a high-functioning, empowered team.
  • Compassion, kindness, and collaboration skills to work with elders and their families.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in learning specified online programs.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be goal-directed.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive, and confidential issues.
  • Good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the operation of the Wellness Department, including maintaining standards in elder care services; supervision and oversight of the Wellness Department team, including training and assigning overall duties in accordance with the elders' needs; meeting financial and budgetary guidelines; and upholding state regulations and procedures.
  • Hiring, training, supervising, and assigning significant overall duties/tasks in directing the work of all Wellness Department team members with full accountability for the performance of subordinates.
  • Creating staffing schedules that meet state guidelines, time off requests, overtime guidelines or other modifications in work schedules.
  • Communicating and enforcing policies and procedures, including the Employer's policies and procedures, and directly disciplining and/or effectively recommending corrective and disciplinary action to enforce such policies.
  • Directing and coordinating elder service plans from move-in to move-out, completing timely and accurate assessments and evaluations as required by state regulations and Compass Senior Living policy.
  • Leading the Quality Assurance program, trending and tracking, and correcting incidents as required by State Regulators.
  • Performing licensed nurse tasks and medication passes within the scope of practice as allowed by state law.
  • Assisting with coordinating care to elders with third-party providers such as therapy, home healthcare, and hospice.
  • Supervising the medication administration and/or assisting with the self-administration of medication programs as required by state law.
  • Acting in the absence of the Administrator if necessary.
  • Adhering to and establishing financial goals and budgetary guidelines for the Wellness Department.
  • Remaining abreast of current State regulations and Nurse Practice Acts and compliance with regulatory processes, such as State, OSHA, and EPA, assisting the community in continued compliance with the policies and procedures of Compass Senior Living, including those as outlined in the Quality Counts Policy and Procedure Manual.
