The Wellness Director is responsible for managing staff, ensuring effective employee relations, and maintaining clear communication regarding goals and direction. This role involves conducting performance meetings and competency checks to uphold Fellowship Home and State HFR standards. Key responsibilities include ensuring quality and operational effectiveness in resident care, admissions, and compliance with State HFR regulations. The position requires applying processes and procedures to maintain compliance, provide excellent care, and create value for residents. The Wellness Director will manage resident assessments, complete incident reports, and provide direct care to new admissions, residents with acute illness, or those experiencing a sudden change in condition. This includes timely communication with resident sponsors and healthcare providers regarding resident status. The role also ensures the daily routines for LPN Floor Supervisors, CMAs, and PCAs are completed, and oversees the operational effectiveness of medication rooms, med carts, and personal care stations, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and adequate stock of supplies and medications. Proficiency in using internal systems like Resident Manager and communication logs is essential for tracking resident and staff incidents. The Wellness Director will make recommendations for improvement and monitor employee use of these systems. Additionally, the role assists in establishing and implementing brand/image guidelines to promote services and meet occupancy standards, overseeing strategies for the admissions/sales process. The position ensures adherence to time and quality standards for medication passes, resident care, charting, and other duties. It involves the completion and regular updating of comprehensive resident care plans with input from all shifts, addressing activities of daily living. The Wellness Director also participates in staff hiring, orientation, training, continuing education, and development, including supervision, coaching, goal achievement, scheduling, leave approval, performance reviews, counseling, and discipline. Ensuring adequate staff coverage within budget parameters and overseeing the after-hours on-call schedule for crisis management are also key duties. The role requires a willingness to fill any hourly position as needed and maintaining a thorough understanding and application of the Department of Community Health’s Healthcare Facility Regulation Division’s Rules and Regulations for Assisted Living Communities.
