Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
  • LPC, LAC, LCSW, LSW required
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaking required
  • 1 year paid progressive work experience with people who have mental health issues, preferably in an Outpatient or Community Mental Health Setting; new graduates will be considered
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • No more than one moving violation within the past 12 months
  • Vehicle required

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment using person-first language, respectful documentation, and person-centered planning to promote wellness and recovery outcomes, helping individuals stabilize and remain in the community, diverting from Emergency Room visits.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws, and high ethical standards.
  • Under clinical supervision, conduct intake assessments, DSM-V diagnoses, goal planning, brief treatment, crisis stabilization, linkage, and discharge planning for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders, including substance abuse and medical disorders.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments with each individual to assess suicidal and/or homicidal ideation with clinically indicated follow-up.
  • Under clinical supervision, provide mental health and substance abuse treatment and education on-site to persons served and significant others, often focusing on evidence-based, trauma-informed brief treatment.
  • Under clinical supervision, provide crisis intervention services for persons served with acute psychiatric needs requiring rapid intervention, utilizing techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Treatment, Crisis Stabilization and De-Escalation, Trauma Informed Care, Self-Regulation, and Psychoeducation.
  • Under clinical supervision, provide brief therapy and evidence-based interventions in individual or group sessions in the office.
  • Facilitate involvement of family members at the person served's request to provide psychoeducation and support.
  • Provide technical assistance and education to team members regarding best clinical practices, utilizing best practices materials and strategies for individual and group intervention.
  • Collaborate with Wellness Specialists to recommend needed case management services, referrals, and linkages to aftercare services.
  • Work collaboratively with APNs and Psychiatrists in providing Medication Education to persons served.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call coverage on a rotating schedule, determining acuity, contacting police or Mobile Crisis as indicated, and providing information about CIS Hours of Operation for individuals who are stable.
  • Under clinical supervision, provide Crisis Intervention, Engagement, Needs and Strengths Comprehensive Assessment (including diagnosing), Collaborative Goal/Discharge Planning, Brief Therapy, Individual and Family Psycho-education, collaborative documentation, and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Coordinate intake, assessment, goal, and discharge planning with CIS staff through regular multi-disciplinary communication with team members, including other Licensed Clinicians, Wellness Specialists, APNs, Psychiatrist, scheduling & Insurance Verification Specialist, Receptionist, and Program Director.
  • Maintain positive relationships with community service personnel.
  • Ensure intake processes are accessible and flexible, with all individuals assessed within 24 hours by a Licensed Clinician.
  • Ensure clinical interventions are evidence-based and lead to goal attainment within the BCIS programs' 30-day period.
  • Participate in the development of comprehensive assessment and the Goal and Discharge Plan, focusing on clinical needs.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to review persons served and discuss clinical and operational matters.
  • Participate in required weekly Individual Clinical Supervision with Senior Wellness Clinician.
  • Consult with community service providers and resource providers regarding the assessment, treatment, and aftercare needs of persons served.
