About The Position

This role involves performing welding processes to repair and fabricate equipment, requiring an understanding of various welding techniques and metal properties. The technician will also be responsible for fabrication tasks, handling inquiries, adhering to customer care and safety standards, and potentially supporting company initiatives. The position requires consistent attendance, timeliness, and the ability to work overtime.

Requirements

Intermediate proficiency in all welding processes and fabrication.
Ability to attain certification in all welding processes required.
Understanding of the metric system.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Consistent attendance and timeliness.
Ability to work overtime with little or no notice.
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
One year minimum welding and industry-specific machine work experience required.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

Nice To Haves

Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred.
Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick processes preferred.
Proficiency or certification as a welder/fabricator of heavy equipment preferred.
Experience and knowledge of CAT equipment preferred.
Line boring experience preferred.
AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform all welding processes (Stick, MIG, TIG, Dual Shield/Flux Core Wire, Sub arc, tin ware repair) with assistance to repair and fabricate equipment.
Determine the appropriate welding process based on the repair type.
Properly set up equipment according to function and application.
Understand the properties of various welding metals and determine the best type for repairs.
Perform fabrication tasks including line-boring and straightening.
Handle public and internal inquiries promptly and in a friendly manner.
Adhere to all customer care standards.
Actively care for and advocate safety at Western States.
Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States’ strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
