We are seeking a Welding Team Lead (Day Shift) to join our team and contribute to exciting technological advancements. This role reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is based in Newark, DE. It is a fully on-site position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2-5 years Tungsten inert gas welding and pulse welding experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and lead teams.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player.
  • Must demonstrate safe work practices and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing terminology and principles.
  • Experience creating standardized work.
  • Experience completing station audits.
  • Experience creating Yamazumi and production line set up.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Must be flexible to work fluctuating schedules if needed.
  • Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs).

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree preferred.
  • Experience completing process technician responsibilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain on-the-floor manufacturing activities, ensuring safe performance in accordance with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all quality requirements are met and that team members adhere to them daily.
  • Provide hands-on welding support for manufacturing areas and engineering projects.
  • Answer technical and welding questions as they arise and assist in maintaining and restoring process flow.
  • Perform Oracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processes.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory management.
  • Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices.
  • Train and mentor welding team members using a hands-on approach to ensure they learn required troubleshooting techniques.
  • Report and attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Manage the welding and assembly team from a process standpoint and communicate issues with the supervisor/manager.
  • Identify non-value-added waste within the manufacturing process and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist in the creation of Yamazumi and in production line setup.
  • Oversee all rework components needed for Unishell and Hotbox production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
