About The Position

This is an opportunity to join the 2nd Shift as a Welding Specialist I at the Boulder location. In this role, you will produce code qualified welds, in the 1G or 2G positions using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding method manually and with automated equipment. You will perform visual weld inspection before, during, and after each welding operation. You will know and follow safety procedures as required in a specific operation, identify safety concerns and take appropriate action. Cooperation and communication with co-workers, support staff, and others is essential. You will willingly share skills and knowledge and actively seek feedback to aid in the development of new skills. You will recognize and participate in improvement activities through the use of established programs such as Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), Lean Manufacturing tools, and techniques to facilitate improvement of quality metrics such as cycle time and first pass yield. You will maintain proper process documentation for all operations performed by recording heat lots, welder ID, date, etc. on shop travelers. You will demonstrate excellent attendance, safety, housekeeping, and general work habits. You will participate on New Product Introduction (NPI) Teams, support prototype, alpha and pilot builds, and ensure product and process quality is maintained/improved. You will work with manufacturing support to document and maintain accurate area PMAPS and assist with process audits to ensure quality system compliance. You will perform preventative maintenance on, and ensure calibration of, equipment, tools, and fixtures, as required. You will keep work areas clean and organized, in accordance with 5s+1 principles. You will perform other duties as assigned per specific department or area. You will exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills and work collaboratively with all members of the Micro Motion team, both inter and intra departmentally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs frequently
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, push, pull, and reach regularly throughout the shift
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment correctly throughout entire shift
  • Requires repetitive motion of fingers, hands, arms and shoulders for reaching, handling, and assembly of product
  • Capable of safely and efficiently operating a powered industrial forklift and other powered industrial trucks
  • Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS degree in welding preferred.
  • Prefer welding experience.
  • Micro Motion’s WPS 4018 is preferred.
