About The Position

This position is within Cornerstone Building Brands’ Fortify Building Solutions business, serving the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry. The Welding Machine Operator works in a fast-paced production setting, operating welding and other CNC-controlled equipment while emphasizing safety and quality. The role involves working with bar material and parts, using scanning equipment, inspecting work, and contributing ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste. The position is permanent and scheduled for second shift, listed as 3:30 pm–12:00 pm. Base pay is $18.04–$19.00 per hour, plus a $1.50 shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a related area.
• Basic Microsoft knowledge.
• Experience with a side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

• Load bar material from racks; weld, measure, and cut parts to length.
• Operate various CNC-controlled machines, such as presses, lasers, and rolling mills, in a fast-paced production setting.
• Use scanning equipment.
• Visually inspect work for defects according to Quality Systems.
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
• Read a tape measure, write, and follow posted schedules.
• Learn and take on additional tasks as assigned.
• Work as a team player and keep safety first.
• Work overtime when needed.
