Welding Lathe Operator
About The Position
SMS group is looking for Welding Lathe Operators whose primary function is to set up and operate welding lathes and perform Arc, MIG and TIG welding, burning. The right candidate will work from a minimum of direction with some instructions from supervisors. They will set up and operate welding lathes to weld steel or stainless steel on rolls, journals, etc. They will monitor temperature of rolls and adjust heat if required. They will perform arc welding or burning as required. They will place roll in furnace, start and operate furnace and identify roll on heat chart. They will perform minor maintenance repairs on equipment. They will keep work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly. They will utilize crane and material handling equipment. They will be a safety minded worker who is drug free, dependable, and able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
Requirements
- High School/Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to work night shift
- Be a safety minded worker who is drug free, dependable, and able to maintain an excellent attendance record
