About The Position
Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is seeking experienced welders to become Welding Instructors. This role involves inspiring and educating the next generation of trade professionals. UTI provides training for individuals with the drive, patience, skills, and passion for welding, even if they have no prior teaching experience. As a Welding Instructor, you will guide students in developing their skills and preparing them for careers in various industries, emphasizing hands-on learning and modern welding technology.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored welding, oxy-acetylene torch work, plasma cutting, and brazing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective connection with students and staff
- Patience and empathy towards students, understanding individual learning paces
Responsibilities
- Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for welding while imparting expert knowledge.
- Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience.
- Collaborate with the education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
- Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
- Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.
