About The Position

South Texas Vo-Tech, part of Ancora Education, is hiring a Welding Instructor. Instructors deliver educational materials using sound educational practices that support students’ academic development. They use instruction to develop knowledge and skills in students’ chosen fields and help them achieve educational and career goals. Instructors foster an engaging, dynamic, student-centered environment and provide support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. They model ethical, professional conduct aligned with Ancora Education’s mission and core values.

Requirements

Where required, hold active certification or licensure.
Have 5 years of industry experience within the last 10 years.
Before beginning to teach, have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new instructor training.
Qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

Use classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaging educational experience.
Ensure students are presented with the material needed to meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development to maintain an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience; maintain required certification and licensure.
Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines and company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
