About The Position

A Welding Teacher at The Crucible is responsible for educating students in various welding techniques and safety protocols within a dynamic and creative environment. The Crucible, known for its commitment to arts and fabrication, provides a unique space to explore industrial arts, combining education with innovative design.

Requirements

• A Degree or Certification in Welding Technology, Fine Arts, Education.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional welding experience; experience in a creative environment is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene) and capability to work with a range of materials and tools.
• An understanding of artistic concepts and the ability to support creative project development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse student backgrounds.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics + multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging classroom and workshop sessions focused on practical skills and theoretical knowledge in welding.
• Evaluate student performance through projects and hands-on assessments, offering constructive feedback to foster skill development.
• Enforce stringent safety procedures in the workshop, ensuring al students understand and adhere to safe practices.
• Act as a mentor to students, guiding them through complex projects and encouraging artistic expression through welding.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in welding to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into the curriculum.

Benefits

• Faculty members who have worked within the previous 6 months receive access to the welding department studio at a rate of 1 hour for every 3 hours worked, when classes are not in session and maintenance is not scheduled.
