About The Position

The Pro Mechanical - Welding Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing welding operations within mechanical projects across various industrial settings in the United States. This position is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The Welding Foreman will coordinate and supervise a team of welders, providing technical guidance and support to maintain high-quality workmanship. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and safety personnel to meet project deadlines and budget requirements. Ultimately, the Welding Foreman ensures that welding tasks contribute to the successful completion of mechanical projects while upholding safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welding foreman or lead welder in mechanical or industrial projects.
  • Valid welding certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes, and safety regulations (e.g., ASME, AWS standards).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Safety awareness and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities on mechanical projects to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to welding team members, including training on welding techniques and safety protocols.
  • Monitor welding quality and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan welding schedules, allocate resources, and resolve any technical issues.
  • Enforce strict safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and personnel certifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting welding equipment and processes to optimize productivity and quality.
