About The Position

The Welding Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing fabrication, welding, repair, and modification of plant equipment and components to support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This role includes working from work orders, prints, and verbal instructions while maintaining compliance with all plant safety, quality, and environmental standards. The position requires strong problem-solving ability and a commitment to continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding certification preferred.
  • Experience in industrial fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for fabrication, repair, and modification of factory equipment, including process piping and sanitary weld applications, using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to fabricate parts to required specifications
  • Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal components using appropriate shop tools and equipment
  • Performs post-weld finishing (grinding, polishing) to meet sanitary requirements
  • Repair production equipment and structural components to support safe and reliable plant operations
  • Support maintenance team with fabrication needs during planned and unplanned downtime events
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy of fabricated parts
  • Perform visual inspection of welds and completed assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with standards, identifying non-compliant weld conditions and taking appropriate corrective action to meet safety and sanitary requirements
  • Order materials and components from approved third-party suppliers as required for fabrication work
  • Utilize SAP to track labor time, materials usage, and maintenance activities
  • Maintain welding and fabrication equipment in safe operating condition
  • Follow all plant safety rules including LOTO and hot work permits.
  • Adhere to GMP requirements and participate in safety and quality initiatives.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
