About The Position

Miller Electric is seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our highly collaborative team that develops cutting-edge welding solutions tailored to the needs of General Manufacturing, Fabrication, MRO, and Personal end users. This role is an opportunity to be at the center of the innovation process for premium welding products. The Welding Engineer will focus on new product development and sustaining initiatives to provide optimum solutions utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes and PC-based software programs. They will evaluate welding arc performance for commercial welding power supplies and optimize welding arcs for GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and SMAW processes. Additionally, the Welding Engineer will develop welding related solutions for customer challenges and issues. Welding Engineers are heavily involved in all stages of New Product Development and sustaining initiatives, sharing knowledge to guide the team to success. This involves partnering with various levels of the organization, including production, engineering, marketing, and leadership to identify, strategize, and bring to life the latest and greatest welding products to the market. The role also includes supporting cross-functional team members with advanced customer applications and challenges.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and SMAW welding processes, techniques, and settings.
  • Basic understanding of electricity and how the variables impact the arc performance and the weldment.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to relate to all customers, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude, high motivation, and a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Willingness to invest in personal and professional development, with potential for growth within the organization.
  • Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering (BSWE) or Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering Technology (BSWET) degree required.
  • Minimum 3+ years welding engineering experience preferred, that includes experience in manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years weld engineering experience preferred (for Sr. Welding Engineer qualifications).
