About The Position

COMPA Industries is recruiting a Specialized Engineer III (Welding Engineer) to work with a team at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. The role assesses repair technologies for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in laboratory settings and through commercial subcontracts. Work involves established and novel technologies, using welding, machining, and other industrial processes to identify, research, test, and evaluate metallic and non-metallic repair methods for the fleet. The engineer regularly interfaces with stakeholders and support groups across the laboratory, naval shipyards, and Naval Reactors Headquarters in Washington, DC. The work may take repair technologies from development through qualification and deployment at a shipyard. Work is performed in laboratory and industrial areas, with up to approximately 10% telework and travel to vendors and shipyards.
