About The Position

Want to contribute your technical skills to a growing organization? We are currently in need of Welder to do vacuum leak tight welding. You will use relevant tools (i.e., Tig welders, lathes, mills, grinders, soldering / brazing torches / irons, rotary tables, mass spectrometers and hand tools) to assemble and leak check welded assemblies to meet specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years as a welder working on low-volume, high mix parts.
• Functional knowledge of the tools and instrumentation that are required to perform the assigned task, such as mechanical hand tools, precision measuring equipment and associated scientific equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift 50lbs manually.
• Must pass vision acuity tests with or without vision correction.
• Good hand eye-coordination and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

• Technical/trade school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate cryogen transfer lines.
• Operate wide array of welding tools to fabricate parts, fixtures, and assemblies.
• Use ERP computer system to ensure inventory and job accuracy.
• Troubleshoot welded part and assembly issues.
• Work with Cryostat team to design and fabricate fixtures for assembly and manufacturing needs in order to meet production schedules and objectives.
• Understand and work from solid models, prints, and sketches, and understand verbal and written engineering instructions.
• Use precision measuring equipment.
• Inform team and/or supervisor of any maintenance required on equipment used in the welding department and the need for any tools or supplies required to support all departmental activities.
