The Welder is responsible for welding of fabricated parts to print and specifications. Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless-steel material and parts for weld. Prepare steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding. Weld materials of limited thickness where finished weld is not stressed. Recommend improvements for area products and processes. Job report labor correctly and in a timely manner. Practice good communication and interact professionally in the plant. Produce quality work in the time frame that consistently meets or exceeds the expectation of Team Lead and Group Lead. Adhere to the 5-S standards in the work area. Communicate any discrepancies or errors on prints, materials list etc. Interact with the teams on second and third shift to obtain positive results on productivity and quality. Additional duties as specified by Assembly Lead. Produce and maintain consistent quality of work, dress, and grind parts after welding. Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress, emergency situation, priority changes, or new assignments. Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner, practice good communications. Recommend improvements for area products and processes.
