About The Position

This position reports to the Production Supervisor - Fabrication and is responsible for welding various metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. The welder will fabricate custom parts using machines such as the Millermatic 250 Mig Welder and Syncrowave 350 LX Tig Welder. As workload requires, this role may also involve other fabrication tasks like using a Fastener Insertion Press, Shear, Spot Weld Machine, Auto-weld machine, Milling machine, and performing deburring and sanding. The position requires executing work orders, interpreting engineering drawings, and receiving verbal orders for custom parts. The welder will also handle raw materials from inventory, set up for daily work according to the production schedule, check parts and machinery for defects, and move finished goods. Maintaining a clean and safe work area and assisting with special projects are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must supply own basic hand tools
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Able to MIG and TIG weld up to ¼” steel and aluminum.
  • Ability to Read and Interpret Quality Documents and Drawings
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Must regularly be able to lift and move from 50 to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for welding various metals: stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel.
  • Welds and Fabricates custom parts using a variety of machines including but not limited to, Millermatic 250 Mig Welder, Syncrowave 350 LX Tig Welder
  • As workload requires, this position may involve other fabrication work in area’s including Fastener Insertion Press, Shear, Spot Weld Machine, Auto-weld machine, Milling machine, Deburring, and Sanding Equipment
  • Executes to work orders and engineering drawings
  • Receives verbal orders to fabricate custom designed parts and products
  • Receives written and verbal instruction on priority of orders
  • Receives, checks and handles raw material from inventory as needed
  • Sets up for daily work according to production schedule and/or verbal instructions
  • Checks parts, products and machinery for defects
  • Works at different workstations as job requires
  • Maintains a clean safe work area
  • Moves finished goods to other inventory or work areas
  • Assists with special projects as assigned by supervisor
