This position is responsible for preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal. The Welder will read weld blueprints and engineered drawings, follow work order requirements, and set up welding machines for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions using fixtures and positioners. The role also involves dimensionally inspecting welds and parts using various tools, inspecting for assembly and cosmetic defects, and tagging non-conforming parts. The Welder will complete tasks according to manufacturing schedules, adhere to safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This may include working in other departments, such as belt and hand grinding, and supporting Welding Engineers in process schedule development.
