About The Position

Primus Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will perform precision welding and fabrication of aerospace components and assemblies while maintaining strict compliance with aerospace quality standards, safety requirements, and engineering specifications. This role requires a commitment to excellence, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a high-performance aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding thin-gauge materials and complex assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass welding qualification tests as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in Welding Technology preferred.
  • AWS Welding Certification (D17.1 Aerospace Welding preferred).
  • Experience welding titanium, Inconel, or other aerospace alloys.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and aerospace inspection requirements.
  • Experience working in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG, MIG, and other welding processes on aerospace-grade materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty alloys.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair aerospace components and structures according to customer and company requirements.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, fixtures, and related fabrication tools.
  • Conduct visual inspections and dimensional checks to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and Production personnel to resolve welding and fabrication issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Follow all aerospace quality standards, including AS9100 requirements and customer-specific procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
