About The Position

Responsible for performing welding and grinding functions per job specifications. Selects equipment and plans layout and assembly of welding. Works closely and interacts with supervision. Works with precise limits and standards of accuracy.

Requirements

Must be able to pass the 9% Nickel Plate Test: FCAW (ENiCrMo3T1-4) - 2G, 3G, 4G; SMAW (ENiCrMo-6) - 2G, 3G, 4G
Must be able to pass the Carbon Steel Plate Test: FCAW (Flux Core) – 2G, 3G, 4G; SMAW E6010 (5P) 3G, Downhill; SMAW E7018 – 2G, 3G, 4G
Must maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams
Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions required to perform duties and responsibilities
Follow welding procedure specifications when welding
Tank Building (Fitter/welder) experience required.
Must obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening.
Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses
Must complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training.
Site may require a valid TWIC card.
Site may require fire retardant clothing.
If required by site, you must be able to maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly.
Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
Must be able and willing to work at elevated heights from ladders, scaffolding, aerial work platforms, etc.
Work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools.
Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers.
Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8 hours per day.

Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds.
Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site.
Comply with all Matrix safety policies and programs.
Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
