About The Position

This position involves welding parts for fixed equipment that require repair, as well as welding new parts for assembly. The role also includes building up worn parts and repairing cracks in mobile equipment. Additionally, the welder will construct various structures like platforms, stairs, and guardrails, and install components such as conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is a key expectation, contributing to safety and hygienic conditions.

Requirements

Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
Must pass a background check.
Ability to communicate with others effectively.
Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills.
Welding school or certification preferred.
Previous experience scrap metal recycling a plus.
Forklift experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Weld parts of fixed equipment that need repair.
Weld new parts for assembly.

Repair cracks in mobile equipment such as the boom of a material handler.
Install conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys.
Construct platforms, stairs, catwalks, guardrails, and equipment supports.
Clean up work area at the end of shift.
Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Organizing materials to have more effective use of space.
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed.
Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
